The Exceptional Gardens
Earthly paradise
7000m² in permaculture land above the ramparts of Riquewihr. All around, the vibrant energy of the Grand Cru of Schoenenbourg - once owned by Voltaire - then the quiet strength of the forest. Nature has long since imposed its law, rooted in a complex geology where vital forces circulate and collide. On the surface, the soil is an exceptional natural breeding ground. An earthly paradise.
Alsace's terroir
A pond where Koï carp swim, Alsace houses and places of contemplation, the Kobelsberg organic garden of is a representation of Jean-Luc Brendel’s Alsace. Harmony, aesthetics and energy, what develops here belongs to something higher. Fruit, vegetables and aromatic plants form a productive, resilient and organic ecosystem, where complementarity and interaction merge. A sensory universe.
A scene of free experimentation
Experimenting relentlessly to better understand the potentialities is to get a little closer to the aromatic truth. Dogwoods, dragon beans, héliantis, Bonnotte potatoes, lemon cucumbers and May berries: the seeds preserve the memory of this magical soil of Alsace. 350 species, some of which have never been grown in France before, an assumed madness, the quintessence of taste, such is the quest.
Visit and meetings
Every Sunday, after lunch at the Michelin-starred restaurant La Table du Gourmet in Riquewihr, the Kobelsberg organic garden opens the doors to its sensory world for an in-depth visit (1h30), followed by a tasting of an extraction of plants.
