Winstub restaurant in Riquewihr
Shared conviviality
Historic winegrower's house
In the main street of Riquewihr, a mansion built between the 13th and 17th centuries has become the Brendelstub, a Brendel-styled winstub restaurant. With its wine-coloured facade and diamond-shaped window surrounds, history has left traces of its passage in the sandstone. A meeting place for all.
Striking decor
Day-glo seating, bold colours and historic beams: eras collide but harmonize. A style that is created for a typically Brendel mischievous atmosphere, between tradition and modernity.
Tartes flambées and wood-fired cooking
Flame cooking, spirit of the garden
Open-air rotisserie for mature beef and fine tartes flambées cooked over a wood fire, ham on a spit: conviviality is an art of living that is shared. In a warm and invigorating atmosphere, Anne Brendel, the wife of the starred chef Jean-Luc, and her team will give you a warm welcome. In the spotlight, the plant world is driven by the extraordinary riches of the Kobelsberg gardens.
Vegetables from here, vegetable follies from elsewhere for a travelled cuisine, rooted in Alsace yet open to the world. A fine selection of wines by the glass, most of them organically grown. Good products, know-how and sincerity, the hallmark of the Brendel uinverse. Uncompromising pleasure, right down to the gourmet and subtle breakfast, which gives pride of place to organic farm and local produce.
